In July, the fantastic EGXS Explorer Scouts tackled a 42km sponsored hike to raise funds for Lincolnshire NHS Charity, to support children and young people across the county facing mental health difficulties.
The group of brilliant young people is part of the Witham St Hugh's and Swinderby scouting experience, supporting and engaging young people in meaningful social, educational and enrichment activites.
With the less than kind weather throughout the weekend, the unit worked har dot complete their challenge and keep each other motivated. Their leaders said:
We could not be prouder of the determination, commitment and sheer grit it has taken with the weather they have faced this weekend - this bunch have stayed chirpy, happy, together and pushed on. Even when offered an easy route one morning after completing their intended distance, they were determined to finish the route they'd planned. Well done!
Lincolnshire NHS Charity could not be more grateful for the support of the EGXS Explorer Scout group, whose hard work and passion for local causes has raised a fantastic £415, which will enable us to keep supporting young people struggling with mental health in Lincolnshire who are benefiting from the vial support provided by Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust every day.
We cannot do what we do without the help of our local community, our wonderful supporters, fundraisers, and volunteers.
